Eyelid Reduction – Blepharoplasty
Eyelid Reduction
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid reduction surgery, removes excess skin and/or fat (eg. lower eyelid bags) from ageing eyelids. The procedure is one of the most commonly requested procedures in cosmetic surgery. Although the upper or lower eyelids are frequently done by themselves, it is often best to treat all four eyelids at the same time.
Upper eyelid surgery is also often combined with brow or forehead surgery as ageing changes in the forehead often make upper eyelid ageing appear worse. Like most facial rejuvenation, a combined surgical and non-surgical approach is frequently advocated to give the best overal periorbital rejuvenation.
RESULTS – Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty results in your eyelids appearing more refreshed and rejuvenated. The droopy excess skin overhang typical of a tired upper eyelid appearance will be gone, leaving a visible rim of the mobile eyelid with a crisp fold above it. The excess fat forming lower eyelid bulges is either removed, or more likely, re-positioned to fill in and smooth the groove between the lower eyelid and the cheek.
