How does Botox work?
Botox® works by temporarily blocking the release of signals from nerve endings to their target muscles. The effect is limited to only those muscles to which treatment has been applied.
How fast does it work and how long will the result last for?
The onset of action is usually between three and five days, with maximal effect reached by 2 weeks. Skin quality, muscle volume, the number of units of Botox® used and the frequency of treatment all influence the duration of action. Treatments usually lasts between three and six months, but varies considerably from person to person.
